The book itself is a classic, but it is dated. The real complaint I have is with this Kindle edition. It is clear the seller scanned and ocr'd a paper copy. Even that would be fine, except the ocr is poor and it's clear no attempt was made to clean it up. The page headers are still there, except they appear in the middle of pages. Blocks of ocr gibberish are all over.Product details

Okay no major breakthrough
Would not buy this again. Information is solid but dated.
The book is good but it took almost a month to ship
Easy read. Very practical advice especially on timing and setting up the cell builder and finisher.
A very practical book on the subject that has much information that I was looking for. I have raised many honeybee queens through the years naturally but wanted to go beyond the usual natural approach so I could be a better teacher to my son & daughter who now have developed an interest in finally getting some beehives of their own instead of just robbing his Dad's honey. It will be fun to try these new queen rearing methods together and some grafting. If they make their own hive splits they might actually take good care of them. I will be ordering each of them a hard copy of this book as it is the best I have come across so far.
I am glad I made this purchase. I bought this book to expand on my knowledge, and for raising queens for my own apiary. It is an oldbook that has been copied, and they did a very good job. The literature is dated (it was written over 100 years ago) but it definetly is still relevant and many of the practices are in use today. The book contained methods of rearing I had never heard of, races of bees I knew nothing about, and was written on a level that anyone with above a 5th grade reading comprenhension level can understand.
